Discover what life was like for the early pioneers, mountain men, and settlers who transformed the Colorado Springs region at our educational historic sites. Tickets may be purchased at the Ranch or online. Visit the General Store to enjoy some old-fashioned sodas and candy, and take home some delightful Ranch-made souvenirs. This School Program will cover the following historic sites:
- 1860s Homestead Cabin
- 1880s Farm and Garden
- 19th Century Blacksmith Shop
Here are a few tips to get the most out of your Homeschool Day:
- Your trip will begin at 3105 Gateway Road.
- Dress for the weather! Most of this program is outside with limited indoor space.
- Parent/guardian chaperones are required during the program. Our staff and volunteers are here to facilitate learning. Teachers/parent chaperones handle student behavior and model proper field trip etiquette.
- Our tours are self-paced and free-flowing. You are welcome to arrive any time between 10am and 2pm.
- You are welcome to enjoy a picnic lunch on our grounds. Picnic tables are available south of the Orchard House and by the pond. Trash and recycling receptacles are provided.
