Step back in time this summer as a Junior Docent at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site! Junior docents wear period clothing, demonstrate historic chores, games, and crafts, and share the history of the Pikes Peak region with visitors from around the world! Please see the list below for areas Junior Docents can volunteer. (Ages 10-17)
- 1775-1835 American Indian Interpretive Area
- 1860’s Homestead
- 1880’s Rock Ledge House
- 1880’s Farm and Garden
- 1907 Orchard House (Ages 13 to 17)
Applications: Here. Open March 1 until full.
Days/Times: Two to three half days per week Wednesday through Saturday either 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 1:30-4:30 p.m. during a five-week session:
- Session I: June 7-July 8
- Session II: July 12-August 12
Junior Docents, along with their parent/guardian, must also work two special events.
Interviews: Saturday, April 8, 2017
Mandatory Training: Saturday, May 13
Please note: Before applying verify that you are available to attend interview, training and on-the-job training dates. Failure to attend will result in removal from the program.
Training Dates may be subject to change. Attendance to the Session I training will qualify Session II new Junior Docents to substitute all season.
