Visitors can walk through the reenactment of a revolutionary war camp and hear the Declaration of Independence being read. Katherine Lee Bates will discuss her inspiration for “America the Beautiful”. Abe Lincoln will share the Gettysburg address, and Patrick Henry’s daughter will recite her father’s famous speech “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!” Visitors can also meet General William Jackson Palmer, and Teddy Roosevelt!
Carnival games are available in the barn with prizes! (Tickets available for a nominal fee.)
Bring a picnic or buy a hot dog and enjoy it on the Orchard House lawn. Pie, lemonade and cold watermelon will be available for sale. The General Store is the perfect place to buy an old fashioned soda and bag of popcorn!
Patriotic music performed by the Fountain Creek Brass Band from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
Wagon Rides from 1:30 to 4:30.
Living history areas and historic houses will be open.
Those in active military are eligible for discounts with an ID.
